What was your daily work or primary profession when you set up a side noise?
I was COO of a family software company. I also spent years before I was a research specialist, so my brain was trained to find stories, patterns and hidden opportunities. It turned out that the same skills are useful when you sell fruit on the side of the road.

When did you set up a side noise and where did you find inspiration for it?
It began in 2013, after my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer with small cells. Later died in 2015. I wanted to do something real. Face to face. Something that mattered. Something that pleased people. A long -time friend still told me to go to South Carolina and see what it was like to sell peaches on the road.
Finully I said yes. It all changed.
What were some of the first steps you took to get side noise from the country?
I’m not very good to immerse my finger in a new business and starting small. So in 2014 I walked in. I took Finna, which was 10 at the time, and the apprentice with Peach Man in South Carolina.
I opened 100 Sun Summer stands. I had trucks, warehouses and crew logistics from the software business, so I use them. Everything else? I’ll figure it out in real time. And I did it all wrong! But I learned quickly to fix my failure, and for decades it is amazing.
Are there any free or paid resources that were particularly useful to start and operate this business?
Honestly? No. Nothing. There was the only source that showed me how to do what I do. I had to build it all from scratch. Fortunately, I spent more than ten years of work side by side, with my dad running a successful software store, so I had a solid business education, but when I turned into it, I flew blind. No book. No plan. Just gravel, attempt and mistake, mentor (fortunately!) And a lot of failure I learned from. Quick.
Everything I know now – every system, process, price model, source tactics, sales script and stand settings – I created while running. And that’s why I built a road republic. I turned all those knowledge into a company that teaches people how to open and operate profitable peach stands. He must guess. These days I work at 5 am to create content, planning, administrative tasks, etc. About 8 hours from 8:00 to 11:00, order products, open our places, deliver and greet customers. During the day we supervised all our stalls and places and ensured that the world would take care of and have everything they need. Our mobile farmers appear in neighborhoods in the evening from 17:00 to 20:00 (long days!)
Now we run six days a week, with Monday like our out of the day.
